I’ll be at the Philadelphia Marathon Expo on Saturday, at the Runner’s World booth, from 3 to 5. I’m running the marathon the next day, so if you’re in Philly and you’re on the course, watch for a desperate bald man running by.
And I’ll be narrating “Peter and the Wolf” with Symphony by the Sea, in Marblehead, MA, on November 26th. Tickets and info are here.

Been so busy with life that I only realized today, after a year, you had not actually given up blogging as I had feared, but that your blog had moved. Whoops.
Congrats on your big PR at Philly!!
Congratulations on shattering that marathon PR at the Philadelphia Marathon yesterday! In a moment of hero worship I chattered at you at the RW Challenge post-race buffet/massage area—I was the one caked in salt and squinting without my bi-focals. Truth be known I am just completely envious of your newly minted marathon PR and believe that defiance in the face of aging is completely possible. To play the six degrees of separation game, I’ve gotten to know Henry Wolstat and Marj Radin and meet up with them at New England races whenever I can (I live in the Northampton, MA area). They know your parents and mentioned that when I posted my Philly results and celebrity encounter on a running forum we all frequent. Anyway, congratulations and keep messing up those age graded charts—it helps the rest of us.
Peter, congrats on your 3:09 PR finish in Philly. Well done, man! Did you see the “Wait, wait, keep running” sign at mile 24? That sign and all the great crowd support got me through. Philly was my best time and marathon experience yet!
