[A Date In] April
When I taped my last appearance on Late Late Night With Craig Ferguson, I was walking off the set when Craig called over his producers and huddled. I was then told “He wants to do it again.” I thought that he felt our segment hadn’t gone well, and wanted to re-do it.
I was wrong. He wanted to tape another segment with me, for broadcast at a later date, probably April. And lo, it came to pass, this past Friday night 4/30/10. This explains the comic uncertainty about the present date, and references to “back in February.” The segment went to some unexpected areas, as I was totally unprepared. But that has its pleasures.
By the way, the Law of Anecdotal Value was first formulated by Professor Stephen Weeks of Lewis and Clark University, whom I should have credited.

I’m with you. I share your envy of people’s great stories, though that doesn’t stop me from inflicting my own, less-engaging stories of finding a parking space, or the amazing sauce that they served at that Indian restaurant that time.
I know somebody has to have pointed it out to you, but Disney already made your movie:

The two of you should take this double act on the road.
Any chance of Mr. Ferguson moonlighting as a WWDTM panelist?

I saw the first show you reference, and thought, at first, that I was re-watching it the other night. Very much enjoyed your interactions and the timing jokes, and did wonder whether they had been taped at the same time.
Also: I picked up Ferguson’s novel after his ‘appearance’ on Wait, Wait…and I’m so glad I did!

Moreover, you were the only ‘official guest’ on that episode (though Lauren Graham came out to help respond to emails).
Ferguson’s show works best when the guests are quick-witted and don’t need to be prepared. He probably knew after the first interview that you didn’t need preparation. The two of you work well together.

I loved the episode. I sat down to watch it and it was such a happy surprise to see you again in the show. I really like Craig Ferguson, even more so after reading his book. And as for you, I have been a loyal fan of your weekly show for more than 3 years (since I discovered the podcast, being not from the US but rather from Mexico).
I actually have this goal to be a listener contestant. It is on my 100 things in 1001 days list and everything. And I want to see a taping of the show, I’m thinking of going to Chicago this year for it. Actually, exclusively for it.

I saw both last Friday’s show and the one you did in February. After the one in February, I thought it would be great if Craig and you did an entire show like he did with Stephen Fry. I think you 2 could pull it off as well.

I really enjoyed all of your interviews with Craig-they had me almost falling out of my chair laughing, but were intellectually stimulating as well.
Any chance of another NMJ appearance by Craig?

This reminded me of one of my college U.S. history professors. He always said the class was an excellent source of material for cocktail parties, and indeed, that that was one of the perks of majoring in History.

Man, I sure wish I could watch that but a) I don’t have cable and lost most of my channels in the Digital Switch and b) the videos have been disabled due to terms of use violations.

Peter — As someone who runs the NYC marathon I think you would enjoy this documentary about Fred Lebow : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1202576/ Very inspiring and entertaining!
